Why will I allow snail to craw on my skin?

There has been recent hype about the beautifying power of snail slime. I recently bought a snail powder that got me bothering; why snail? I have heard of snail creams and how they work well in improving skin tone and close pores.

Although not everyone likes snail, but I personally like snail for its sweet taste and nutritional values.
Many beautician and in cosmetic shops allow snail to crawl on the face for more beautifying purpose. Note that the snail used by beauticians has been purified.  In this post, I will be sharing with you how snail slime can enhance beauty.
The snail slime or mucus helps the animal in protection against bacteria, UV rays and cuts. Snail mucus is of different varieties depending on the season and environmental factors.
Mucus generally is gel of polymer network. They function mainly in protection. Snail slime is produced by glands present at its foot and below the mouth. It contains about 92 to 95 percent of water. It also contains glue that helps animals to move on vertical surfaces. Snail slime is found also in gastropods and mollusks

For inflammations reduction- it was first prescribe as anti-inflammatory agent in Greece when they notice farmers that handles escargot started having a smoother and younger hands. It is now used by companies like RéVive and Peter Thomas Roth.  It was traditionally y used in the ancient Greece to treat peptic ulcer. It was also used to soothe cough in syrup form.

Elastin and collagen production- a dermatologist; Francesca Fusco describes snail mucus to stimulate the production of elastin and collagen. Snail slime is able to do this because of its peptide and hyaluronic acid content.  Snail mucin is therefore an anti aging agent.  It soothe the skins and restores hydration.

It is also used in treating acne, stretch marks and razor bumps.
Snail mucus is commonly seen in Korean beauty products. It is seen in facial masks, moisturizing creams and serum.
However, DIY Snail spa may cause allergy.
